CROP works with parents and carers to end child sexual exploitation. CROP condemns the sexual exploitation of children and young people and views it as a gross violation of dignity and human rights. CROP acts against those who profit from the procurement of children and those who pay to abuse them.
Vision
CROP works alongside parents and carers so that they can become active agents in responding to the sexual exploitation and abuse of their children. The organisation’s ethos and vision is to:
- work with parents to help their children break free from their abusers;
- enable parents and carers to become equal partners with statutory and voluntary agencies;
- alert government and other agencies to the need for not only more effective legislation but also the implementation of new legislation to combat sexual exploitation by perpetrators from outside the family unit;
- enhance public awareness and understanding of the complex and changing operation of perpetrators, including their grooming processes, and the nature of internal trafficking;
- challenge inaccurate stereotyping of sexually exploited individuals (girls and women in particular); and
- encourage and support parents and carers to work collectively with other parents and to offer each other mutual support.
CROP regards parents and carers of sexually exploited children and young people as experts in this field and believes that positive change can only be brought about by working together.
