Volunteers have always played a vital part in CROP’s development. Volunteers provide assistance in the form of administrative support, research, and logistical help at Parent Network Days, Parent Support Groups and conferences.
To further strengthen CROP’s volunteering scheme, a three-year grant from the Department of Health enabled CROP to appoint a Volunteer Coordinator in 2008. This grant has enabled CROP to develop a national volunteer befriending service to support parents.
CROP volunteers receive and benefit from a two-day volunteer induction course, a wide range of ongoing training opportunities, peer support group meetings and regular one-to-one supervision with the Volunteer Coordinator.
